DOT Golf Cart Windshields

AS-4 / AS-5 polycarbonate reinforced acrylic. Shipping included. Eight fitments covering E-Z-GO, Club Car and Yamaha.

A windshield is one of the items a low-speed vehicle has to have — it sits on the same required equipment list as headlights, turn signals, reflectors, mirrors and seat belts. It is also one of the parts most often missing from a cart that is otherwise ready to be documented.

These are DOT-approved windshields in AS-4 / AS-5 polycarbonate reinforced acrylic. The acrylic carries a coating that makes it stronger and shatterproof, and that coating is what earns the rating. It is marked directly on the windshield, which is where a DMV clerk or inspector will look for it.

How to Order

Call 603-800-7911 and tell us which cart you have. We will confirm the fitment with you before anything ships.

Already ordering a VIN & MCO package? You can add a windshield to it on the order form and it will appear on the same invoice.

Which One Fits Your Cart

E-Z-GO RXV Windshield

Fits the RXV body across all model years. The RXV is distinguished from the TXT by its rounded cowl and the single-piece front body panel.

E-Z-GO TXT Windshield — 1996 to 2013

Fits the original TXT body. If your cart predates the Freedom restyle, this is the one — the front cowl is squarer and the headlight bezels sit lower in the body.

E-Z-GO TXT Freedom Windshield — 2014 and Later

Fits the restyled TXT Freedom body. The cowl profile changed in 2014, so a pre-2013 TXT windshield will not sit correctly on these.

Club Car DS Windshield — 2000.5 and Later

Club Car changed the DS body mid-way through the 2000 model year. This fitment covers the later body. If you are unsure which side of that split your cart falls on, the strut mounting points are the tell — call us and we will work it out.

Club Car DS Windshield — 1982 to 2000.5

Fits the earlier DS body, from 1982 up to the mid-2000 change. These older struts run straight rather than bending, which is the quickest way to tell them apart from the later style.

Club Car Precedent, Tempo & Onward Windshield

One windshield covers all three. The Precedent body carried forward into the Tempo and Onward, so a single fitment serves the whole family. $299 shipped.

Yamaha Drive Windshield

Fits the Yamaha Drive body. Both gas and electric Drives take the same windshield.

Yamaha G22 Windshield

Fits the G22 body. Earlier G-series carts use different mounting and are not covered by this fitment — call if you have a G14, G16 or G19.

Common Questions

Does a low-speed vehicle need a windshield?
Yes. A windshield is part of the equipment list a low-speed vehicle must carry under FMVSS 500, alongside headlights, tail and brake lights, turn signals, reflectors, mirrors, a parking brake and seat belts. A cart without one cannot be documented as an LSV.
What do the AS-4 and AS-5 ratings mean?
AS-1 is laminated safety glass. AS-4 and AS-5 are polycarbonate reinforced acrylic — the acrylic carries a coating that makes it stronger and shatterproof, and that coating is what earns the rating. It is marked directly on the windshield, which is what an inspector or DMV clerk looks for.
Can a golf cart windshield be tinted?
Only lightly. An AS-5 windshield is acceptable as long as it passes at least 70% visible light transmittance — so a slight tint is fine, a dark one is not. Some states layer their own windshield tint rules on top of the federal standard, so check yours before adding any film.
Is shipping included?
Yes, anywhere in the continental United States. Windshields ship separately from any paperwork order — they are far too large for a document envelope, so the two arrive at different times.
Do I have to order documents to buy a windshield?
No. You can order a windshield on its own, or add one to a VIN & MCO documentation order and have it appear on the same invoice.
What if I don't know which body style I have?
Call 603-800-7911. Body style is usually settled in under a minute from the year and a look at the front cowl, and we would rather identify it with you than have the wrong glass shipped.

Making a cart street legal takes more than glass. See how the VIN & MCO process works, or check the requirements for your state.
